15 in Hercules crash survive

Magetan (ANTARA News) - Fifteen of the 109 passengers and crew of the Indonesian Air Force Hercules C-130 aircraft which crashed in flames in Geplak village, Karas subdistrict, Magetan regency, East Java province, survived the crash.

"Eleven of the 15 survivors are being treated at Dr Soedono hospital in Madiun, and four others at Air Force Hospital at Iswahyudi air base, Magetan.

Five of the survivors sustained serious head injuries and brain concussion, and some even had to undergo a CT-Scan," Dr Soedono Hospital President Director dr Dodo Anondo MPH. said Wednesday night.

The 11 survivors treated at Dr Soedono Hospital in Madiun are Major Lekahena (41), the co-pilot of the ill-fated cargo plane, and still under treatment at the hospital`s intensive care unit (ICU);

Mrs Mia (30), still on the operating table; Umi Kusuma (25), also still on the operating table; Mr X (40), in the ICU; Jeri (3) operated on; Second Private (24); Angga (2) at the ICU; Warsito (35); Sulasmin; Chief Sergeant Susanto (33); and Major Dedi Fahrudin.

In the meantime, the four surivors at the Iswahyudi air base hospital are Chief Sergeant Agus Juwarsa, Sergeant M Saputra, Sergeamt Rudi, and Anggun (child).

Angga (2) had a brain concussion, fully conscious but often crying, and lost her mother and two sisters.(*)
