Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An Air Force Hercules plane flying from Jakarta to Madiun, East Java, crashed into a rice field at Geplak village in Magetan at about 6:20 on Wednesday morning, or a few minutes before landing at Iswahyudi military airbase.
Air Force spokesman Rear Marshal Bambang S told a private television station that a Hercules aircraft of the Air Force did crash in Madiun on Wednesday morning.
But so far there was no immediate report on the number of casualty in the accident.
Wednesday`s crash in Madiun is the second in less than two weeks after another Air Force Hercules plane overshot the runway of Wamena airport in Papua on Monday, May 10, 2009. (*)
